Venture fund for embedded software product start-ups in India

August 19, 2005

New Path Ventures, a fund focused on cross border start ups for developing chips and embedded software, is raising $250 million for early stage funding in Indian companies.

New Path is now setting up an office in Bangalore. The office would cater to the local needs of companies that have been funded so far and evaluate business plans and new opportunities in the country. Complete story here.

This is great news for those who want to start something in these domains. I am not a big fan of early stage funding, so I am not excited because there are more funds for the budding entrepreneurs. Instead, what excites me is the fact that it will start a new wave of companies wanting to innovate in this space because of the apparent ease of ‘getting started’.
