Internet Bill

February 25, 2005

Doesn’t it hurt when you are asked to pay a lot for something that you are not used to? USD 50 per month is the maximum that I have paid for internet connectivity so far. That would roughly translate to Rs. 2200. Bill for the current month – Rs. 4500 – for a dial-up connection since the broadband was not available. Now, that is more than double the amount that I have ever paid.

It’s not that there was no cheaper option (Rs. 1500 was for unlimited access) but I was too busy to even change my service and risk disconnectivity for a day. Shocked? Not really – I was expecting a high bill – based on my usage this month – but Rs. 4500 is still a high amount for internet connectivity for a month.

And I thought that the internet connection in US is still not that cheap!
